A five card poker game where players may exchange cards with one another.
Betting Structure
Trees has an ante and two betting rounds. The game will be identified by its betting limit, e.g. $1 game will use bets and raises of $1 throughout the game. Antes are generally equal to 1 bet.
The second round of betting can be done with a higher bet amount, usually double the first round bets. If this is the case, the game will be identified as a Trees $1/$2 game where the $1 is the small bet (and ante) and the $2 is the large, second round bet.
The Deal Players post an ante. All players are dealt 5 cards.
Players enter a standard round of betting, starting to the dealer’s left.
ExchangePlayers exchange cards with each other. Players must always swap the same number of cards with another player (i.e. a player can’t give two other players 1 card each and then take 2 cards from another player). This continues until no players want to exchange cards or until only one player wants to exchange cards (since nobody will exchange with that player, the exchanging is effectively finished).
Players enter a standard round of betting, starting to the dealer’s left.
Showdown The best poker hand wins the pot.
